Originally known as the Internationals, the club was formed in 1971 by a group of soccer players wanting to stay fit in the off-season. After competing in the NTFL Reserves in 1971/72, the club entered the senior ranks the following year as North Darwin. Keith Kemp became patron, and the club adopted Collingwood’s famous black and white strip, inspired by the Magpies’ success.
In 1995/96, North Darwin relocated to Palmerston, becoming North Darwin/Palmerston Magpies, before officially rebranding as the Palmerston Magpies Football Club in 1996/97.
Today, the club continues to grow and show great promise across all teams, led by passionate coaches, President Carmine Rauseo, and the dedicated volunteers who are the lifeblood of the Magpies.
